We hope you find this update helpful! Last time, we were overwhelmed by pandemic. We kind of got used the new circumstances in April and continued with our lives and new features. There are some big ones! Here’s a list: Default billable status
New types of project budgeting
Duplicate task list
Let’s now look at the details of each.
Time is a time-tracking tool that allows you to determine which hours are billable and which are not. Until recently, each time record had to be marked separately, which meant that there was a lot of room for error. Imagine tracking 20 hours of work, then realizing at the end that you don’t know how many were billable. Or forgetting to mark your workday as billing. It’s a nightmare! We made it possible to set the default status (not)billable on task and project levels. This makes it much easier to manage and leaves less room for errors. We have new types of project budgeting.
ActiveCollab’s financial section has seen radical changes. Three new budget types were introduced by ActiveCollab. There are three types of budgets: Fixed price, Time and expense, and non-billable projects. Track your expenses and time so you can view them as project costs. Be aware of the profitability of your project. Track your time and expenses, mark them as billable, add expenses, and invoice the lot. You can’t mark time records as billable. A more detailed description is available here.
ActiveCollab allows you to duplicate tasks, create templates from an entire project, and also allow you to duplicate task lists. You can duplicate your task list if you have a set of tasks to complete every week. No more busy work! All tasks on the list will be copied without comments. We believe in working smarter and not harder. This seemingly small improvement could save time. The number of team members will likely reach hours. Think about all the ways administrative tasks could be automated. Take a break! Let us know if you include this feature in your daily or weekly routine! Uptime
April was nothing but smooth sailing! The system performance was reliable and solid with a 99.9% uptime.
The Column view of the projects will be our focus. It will be greatly improved. All changes will be visible in real time, just like they are in the List or Timeline views. You’ll also find all completed tasks in a new column. Drag-and-drop a task to mark it as complete. All this will be revealed in May. Keep checking back!
